Newcastle is a great place to visit in Summer with its diverse population and city filled gorgeous historical monuments it is a great place for tourist attraction. The city is wide known for its nightlife and love for contemporary artistry.
If you’re a sports fan, then Newcastle has a delight for you as well. With a football (soccer — for our American readers ;)) team situated in the heart of the city and a stadium of giant size. St. James Park, was also used in Olympic 2012, but we’ll talk about that later.
Here are four things we recommend you to do when touring Newcastle:-
Visit The Castle
If you’re a big history buff like us, then you’ll love a visit to The Castle. Built in Medieval times, it shares lots of information about the Medieval Newcastle and the way people used to live at that times.
The Castle Keep and the Black Gate were recently renovated and opened again for public display. Researchers from around the world have been studying both the monuments for a couple of years now and been able to learn a great deal about the grim life of the people of those times.
We recommend that you visit this historic site once while you’re in Newcastle.
Visit Gateshead Millennium Bridge
Newcastle is filled with diversity, not only the people living there are diverse, but the places and monuments also show the difference.
Gateshead Millennium Bridge is one such example, the modern architecture done on this bridge makes it a great eye-candy place. It is also known as the “Blinking Eye.” Wilkinson Eyre Architects designed this bridge, and it runs eight electric motors, and it is intended to clean up its own waste.
The total cost of making this bridge was around $31.2M, and it is has won several awards for its excellent design. Our recommendation is that you must check this place out once while you’re at it.
Enjoy the Nightlife
The great thing about Newcastle’s nightlife is it’s not just for Grownups only. There is something in the box for members of every age group. At night, there are special shows performed by a various group of artists depicting the vast history of the place.
They also share stories from back in the day, stories that move your heart and makes your eyes wet. Stories that fills your heart with joy and brings you a smile on your face.
St. James Park
